Christmas Tree Cutting

We hope you and your family can join us for a joyous and very full afternoon of pot luck tailgating, photo ops with Smokey the Bear, sledding, and tromping through the forest for a Charlie Brown style Christmas tree.  To cap it all off, we will visit the legendary Bucksnort Saloon in Sphinx Park--the most magical of Colorado mountain pubs.

The plan is to meet at 11:30 at the tailgating site--and if you stay on through the Bucksnort festivities, you and your family may expect to get home by late afternoon or early evening.

It will be a long but fabulous day.  With all the running around we do over the holidays, this is a WONDERFUL opportunity to leave the madness behind and take one very memorable day to enjoy the season with friends and family.  And even if you don't need or want a tree, please consider coming along to enjoy the scenery and bon homie.

Permits to cut trees (one tree per permit--$10 per permit) were available starting Tuesday, November 1 and they sell out fast!  We obtained a block of permits for our IN-Colorado friends but unfortunately they are already sold out! But please join us anyway for some good fun!

And by the way, a Christmas tree obtained from the National Forest Service is environmentally correct.  Their Christmas tree program contributes to forest fire and beetle kill mitigation--and the trees are so fresh, they last straight through New Year's day without losing needles.

Lots more details to follow, but for now, please help us determine how many permits we'll need.

Big Fun ahead!
