The use of mobile devices has skyrocketed over the course of the last decade with 70% of the world's population owning a mobile phone. In the first 2 months of 2010 over 300m phones were sold, 55m were smart phones. In today's fast-paced world, businesses cannot afford to ignore this trend. Whether it is taking advantage of mobile marketing options, or increasing employee productivity, as business professionals, we need to understand the impact mobile has on our bottom line.
Our workshop will be an interactive show and tell about how far mobile has come and how businesses can tap into this powerful medium. We will look at review sites like Yelp, location-based platforms like Foursquare, and text messaging products that can drive traffic and customers. We will also touch on the emerging market of QR codes and how they can integrate with existing print and online media to promote businesses and products. In addition to mobile as a marketing platform, we will explore how mobile devices can make you more efficient and your company more effective.
