CISTE An Historic Irish Language and Cultural Fund for the North of Ireland Comes to the Denver Area.
Ciste Infheistiochta Gaelige is the main driver on the island of Ireland and globally in encouraging social entrepreneurship while complementing the rival of the Irish language. It harnesses opportunities for job creation by accessing the creative industries and the arts economy while advancing its commitment to the Irish language through strategic investments in infrastructure in community centres across the North of Ireland. Its core objective is as physically in the Irish language’s revival. These community centres in turn will serve as catalysts in promoting an understanding of the importance of the indigenous language of Ireland and in underpinning the peace process for all communities. By its work in both rural and urban communities in the North of Ireland Ciste seeks to unlock the creative talents of men and women today in the North of Ireland while laying the ground work for future generations to come via support for sustainable projects in the arts, media, and entertainment.
Mr. Mac Giolla Mhin and Dr. Costello said of their trip to Denver: “CISTE in coming to the United States seeks to renew those bonds of culture, hope and friendship by offering a unique and genuinely historic opportunity for partnership in reconnecting the historic province of Ulster and all its communities with the Irish language and to enable the Irish in Americas to be part of that vital work. Our work at the rural and urban levels alike involves making the Irish language a central part in building the peace as well as the future while honouring the sacrifices and hard work of by so many men and women at home and abroad in working to build a better life.”
