On long winter nights in Ireland, people congregated in a local rambling house for storytelling, singing, dancing and the odd bit of gossip. It was how our forefathers entertained each other.

We plan to recreate this type of event with our first Irish Rambling House on Saturday, January 25th at 2pm. The venue will be upstairs in Nallens Irish Pub which is the perfect setting to hear people share the singing tradition from Ireland without any background distractions or noise.

The event is open to anyone both young and old who would like to perform an Irish, Scottish or Celtic song, poem or story. Others may prefer to just sit and listen to this unique style of entertainment and get a deeper insight into the history of Ireland told through song. Admission is free but please RSVP so we can have a better idea of numbers. We already have a good few singers and storytellers lined up.

"Then sing your songs and play your tunes beside the fireside glow
And take us back to how it was in the Ireland of long ago."

From Dublin to Denver - An Irreverent Discussion

Come out to hear a mighty slagfest amongst a panel of jackeens who have been banished from 'The Big Smoke' of Dublin to become an ethnic minority amongst the Irish community in Denver.

Dubs from the Northside will extend the olive branch to those from the Southside, lads from private Rugby schools in D4 will try and understand the strange sport of Gaelic Football - they are buzzin' for the half dozen!

Learn about famous Dublin landmarks like the stiletto in the ghetto, the floozie in the jacuzzi, the tart with the cart and the quare in the square.

Featuring Shay Dunne, Kieran Brady, Damien McCarron, Dave O'Connor, Brian Coffey and others at The Abbey Tavern, owned by another Dub - Glen Eastwood.

Moderated (or attempts at moderation) by Kerryman Alan Groarke.

    High Time (Connemara)

HighTime are an accomplished trio from the heart of Connemara on the West Coast of Ireland. Combining Irish music with an intriguing blend of modern folk influences, they produce a rich and unique sound and an electric energy onstage. This coupled with intricate three-part vocal harmonies and displays of exceptional, rhythmic step dance, have left audiences worldwide awestruck by their performances.

    Reálta
    (Belfast)

Performing on dueling uilleann pipes, whistles, bodhrán, guitar, bouzouki, double bass and vocals, this award winning, Belfast based band will lead the listener on a journey of music and song through the full range of the Irish tradition… or as Herald Scotland put it, “Réalta carry on the Bothy Band tradition of taking tunes by the scruff of the neck and firing excitement through them like hot flames! “

Historic Mount Olivet Cemetery Tour with Dennis Gallagher

Join our Irish Network for an historic and unique tour of Mount Olivet Cemetery where 150,000 Denverites are buried. The tour will be led by the distinguished civic leader, academic, historian, author and raconteur Dennis Gallagher. This will be our fifth historical tour after wonderful tours of Irish Neighborhoods in the Highlands, Eastern European neighborhoods in Globeville and tours of Riverside and Fairmount Cemeteries.

Mount Olivet first opened in 1892 and is the resting place for many famous figures in Colorado History like Horace and Baby Doe Tabor as well as William Gilpin, the first Governor of Colorado.

The tour will start at 2pm and should last 90 minutes to two hours.

Afterwards we will retire to Clancy's Irish Pub in Wheat Ridge for libations.

Our last cemetery tour was a sellout so we would advise you to purchase your tickets early.
