From The West of Ireland to The Wild West: An Irreverent Discussion

Connacht meets Colorado. Come out to hear a mighty slagfest amongst culchies from Connacht on topics such as Irish pubs, Immigration, the GAA, general Yankification...and more! Help predict the year when Mayo will finally win SAM!

Featuring Noel Hickey, John Nallen and others.

Moderated (or attempts at moderation) by Kerryman Alan Groarke.

The event has been rescheduled from last November and will be hosted by Noel's pub The Celtic on Market on Sunday February 24th at 2pm and afterwards we will retire across the road to Nallen's pub where John will regale us with the stories behind the memorabilia in his legendary watering hole.

Historic Fairmount Cemetery Tour with Tom Noel and Dennis Gallagher

Join our Irish Network for an historic and unique tour of Fairmount Cemetery - Denver's most famous and beautiful cemetery. The tour will be led by 'Dr. Colorado' Tom Noel, the official State Historian for Colorado, as well as distinguished civic leader, academic, historian, author and raconteur Dennis Gallagher. This will be our third historical tour after wonderful tours of the old Irish Neighborhoods in the Highlands and one last year at Riverside Cemetery.

So many milestones of Colorado‚Äôs diverse history are represented at Fairmount: the earliest settlers, Veterans, leaders of industry, Civil Rights pioneers, early educators and many more; at every turn the past surrounds you. The Fairmount Community Mausoleum is home to the largest collection of stained glass windows in Colorado. With its flying buttresses and gargoyles, Ivy Chapel is reminiscent of Notre Dame and other grand cathedrals in France, only on a much smaller scale.

We will meet at the Ivy Chapel just east of the parking lot at 1.30pm and the tour will start at 2pm. The tour should last 90 minutes.

Afterwards we will retire to The Abbey Tavern for libations.

Our last tour was a sellout so we would advise you to purchase your tickets early.
